Hey Carrasco Cousins, its time for a Reunion!
You should all be ashamed that your Uncle is calling for this get-together to happen!
Just kidding... At Tammy's wedding, I came up with the idea that it would be great if we could have all of the Carrasco cousins and their partners/spouses come together this summer! As the youngest uncle, and one who remembers fondly the family gatherings in Kampala, it is time for you all to come together and reconnect and just have a good time talking about all your uncles and aunts, for starters, or whatever.
This year, as with others, there are many milestones for us all. For me it will be turning 60, Transoft will be 20 years old and of course my baby daughter will also be 20! Given there are 23 of you, plus those better halves, I am sure that every year has mitlestones of one type or another, and time is stopping for no one! With all this in mind, I suggested to Colin that it would be really nice to hold the reunion in Toronto, but outside Toronto at a cottage or something similar, so that everyone is in one place and have loads of time to have fun.
I am offering to cover the airfare (economy - please!) of all of my nephews and nieces (only!) who can make it to Toronto for the event, but the organizing will have to be with the Torontonians. I will also pick up reasonable costs for the rental of the cottage/cottages.
In my opinion the event should be limited to the cousins and spouses/partners only, for no other reason than it should be time to get to know each other - at least this first time around!
Well????? Please pass this out to the rest as I do not have everyone's email addresses.
I nominate Colin and Keith to be the coordinators.
I will give you more insights into the Carrasco Picnics of ole in future blogs!
I am pretty sure this idea was proposed from two younger cousins of ours when they created the Family tree. They know who they are.
